Steve and I drove to visit my dad on this beautiful Sunday. It was wonderful to relax, sit in the sun, have a drink, and spend some time with family.  Since I no longer live at home it’s not always easy to get together. Living slightly over two hours away doesn’t sound that far, but it does take some planning.

Neither Steve or I have a grill so we were glad to have the chance for a barbecue. Barb made a refreshing salad, as well as an orzo salad, while my dad grilled chicken. We ended the meal with amazing brownies topped off with gelato and peppermint fudge.

I put my hair up in a fishtail crown braid which is a hairstyle I saw on barefoot blonde. I have done a crown braid before, but I hadn’t considered trying it with fishtail braids.

I want these pants in every color! They are lightweight and so comfortable. I love the bright red, but today I toned it down with brown accents. I will probably wear them next weekend for Memorial Day – paired with a blue and white sweater!
