The sun has finally come out. It is still not as warm as one would like…Steve and I decided to explore downtown Portland this afternoon. With all the restaurants that Portland has to offer, it’s hard to choose where to eat. Fun Fact: Portland ME has more restaurants per capita than any other city in the US. I did ask a friend for a suggestion, because we left the house for a late lunch, which meant we were both starving. We have wandered around and picked a place before, but that can take hours. My friend suggested a place called the North Point.

Lunch was delicious. We split three different plates. Since it was a late lunch we were the only people eating, however there was a wine class going on. It was a great find because we discovered something fun to do in the future. It is a walking wine tour around Portland stopping at restaurants, tasting different wines with food pairings. They offer two classes a week so it is super easy to sign up for Wine Wise and try something new.

Even though it wasn’t raining, my red trench coat was the perfect piece for a little warmth and wind protection. I bought this coat several years ago, but it is such a classic that it will never go out of style. I can wear it when it is not raining because of the trench style. I think that everyone should own a classic trench coat, tan is the traditional color, which would be an investment piece for a future purchase. I think my red trench has all the classic elements and the color gives it some added interest.

Occasionally I can get too “matchy” with my outfits. I almost chose my light green sneakers which would have pulled out the green in the scarf. I think that would have been taking it one step too far. Wearing a pink top instead of white helps make it look slightly different then your classic go-to pairing.

Hope everyone is having a great hump day!
