When the state of Iowa is mentioned you don’t typically think of vineyards, you think of corn. There ARE a lot of corn fields out here, however there are also many local breweries, vineyards, and distilleries. The other day we went with Steve’s family to a local vineyard that’s only a few miles away, Park Farm Winery. It was beautiful. It is located so that you look out at great views while sitting on the deck sharing a bottle of wine. We began with a tasting to help us decide on which bottle to enjoy. They have ten different types of wine, five which are drier and five on the sweeter side so there is something for everyone. While on our trip we also had some great food. We ate in downtown Dubuque at the restaurant Brazen, which works with local farmers and growers. The weather has been beautiful, which is always a plus when you are on vacation!

I always pack a chambray {denim} top when traveling. It’s that one item that can go with anything in your suitcase and adapt to different needs, changes in temperature, and be dressed up or down. I would compare a chambray shirt to chocolate… you can never go wrong with adding chocolate to any dessert. Chambray is just as versatile. You can wear it simply as a shirt, tie it around your waist for definition, add it underneath as a layer, or wear it as a jacket. I know this gives you some ideas, but this fall I will do an additional post dedicated to different ways to wear this adaptable piece. It is the go-to item in my closet when I think I have nothing to wear, which might be why I own it in a few in different shades.

I have been having a wonderful week visiting Steve’s family, I hope you are having a great week as well!
