I am not a fan of the ugly holiday sweater. It is a big trend that even includes themed parties at this time of year. The concept reminds me of something Brook Davis from One Tree Hill said “The idea of ugly bridesmaids dresses makes me sad, they are worn and made fun of, then are put the back of the closet to only appear again on Halloween as a cruel joke.” I have a similar opinion of the ugly Christmas sweater.

Although I don’t like the idea of ugly Christmas sweaters, I do enjoy wearing a classic holiday sweater. There are tons of adorable choices. I know there is a limited time to wear one, but if you only have one or two you can wear them for several years before buying a new one.

I created a more classic look for this sweater. Since the sweater has a fun pattern on it I didn’t want to overpower it, so I chose to wear these cute shoes to add a little more zip. Of course you can always pair fun holiday sweaters with a skirt for a dressier look.
