I love an item that you can edit to create a completely different look. This dress is one of those pieces. I believe the key is the drop waist. The drop waist is super cute and girly on its own. All dresses have some aspect of girly…I mean it’s a dress after all. However some dresses have a more fun/ flirty side to them. I love the pattern on this dress, it’s the perfect amount of pattern and color. The less structured look of a drop waist and the hemline create that feminine feel.
I decided to wear a sweater over the dress because it had the drop waist. I always like to maximize my dresses in the winter by trying something new. I was excited when pairing a sweater over top worked so well! The dress is a lightweight material which makes it hard to wear in the colder months. Wearing a sweater with this dress helps to extend its season. I could even layer an additional sweater if I really wanted some extra warmth.
Another idea is to wear this dress with a pair of skinny pants underneath. The flirty hemline of this dress is short enough that it works with pants or leggings. Wearing pants underneath the dress makes it look like a tunic. This dress is a darker base so if pairing with jeans, I would do a lighter wash, possibly with some distressing. For the holidays you could wear a fun colored legging that tied into the other colors of the dress.
Cannot believe Thanksgiving is this week… I am thankful for all my wonderful friends and family, and of course for those of you that stop by to read my blog!
